Girls Group
Girls Group is a program to encourage friendship and social interaction among female teens and young adults with developmental disabilities ages 13-21.
A trained recreation therapist runs Girls Group with the assistance of activity technicians, all of whom are also female. The main focus of this program is to participate in fun activities together with peers. The activities are chosen by the participants and have included concerts, sporting events, plays, festivals, holiday activities, nail painting and more at MMI or across the Omaha metro.
Program details
- Girls Group typically meets once a month on weekend afternoons or evenings.
- Space in this program is limited and transportation is not provided.
- There is a fee for this program and scholarships may be available.
