Pediatric Feeding Disorders

We work with each family to produce substantial and lasting improvements in eating and drinking.

The Munroe-Meyer Institute's Department of Pediatric Feeding Disorders includes specialists in pediatric feeding. Our interdisciplinary team provides individualized assessment and treatment that meets each child's specific needs.

That is all we do. All day, every day.

Ways we help

Feeding disorders, like children, come in many “shapes and sizes.” Our programs help families and caregivers when your child:

  • Doesn't eat or drink enough.
  • Is a picky eater.
  • Is dependent on tube feeds.
  • Doesn't eat like children their age.
  • Has sensory aversions.
  • Has oral-motor skill deficits.
  • Has problem behavior at mealtimes.

Our Specialists

  • Care about children and caregivers.
  • Lead the field of pediatric feeding disorders.
  • Have highly specialized training and experience.
  • Use a scientifically supported approach for treatment.

We listen when you say

  • Mealtimes are stressful.
  • You lie awake at night worrying about your child’s growth and development.
  • Others do not understand.
  • You wake up thinking about how you are going to feed your child today.

We understand children who

  • Don’t eat at all or could go days without eating.
  • Eat only a few foods like goldfish crackers, French fries, or cookies.
  • Gag and cry at the sight of food.

We know that you may have

  • Anxiety when your child does not eat.
  • Frustration when your child does not eat healthy foods.
  • Concern that things won’t get better.

Pediatric Feeding Services

We deliver exceptional patient- and family-centered care to individuals from infancy through early adulthood. Because feeding disorder can look very different for different children, our services are specific to your child.

Required Form and Documents

Before scheduling an evaluation, we first require that a screening form be completed and sent to us. We use the information provided in the form and other documents requested to develop an individualized treatment plan for your child. Filling out this form is the first step to scheduling an appointment.
