Art Club
In the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute department of recreational therapy Art Club, adult participants with developmental disabilities ages 18 and over create artwork using many different mediums, including painting, drawing, pottery, beadwork, glasswork and more. Participants also enjoy social interaction with their peers and activity technicians.
Art Club participants will let their creative sides shine. As a skills-based program, Art Club teaches the necessary skills for participants to learn how to use different mediums so they can continue creating art on their own. Art club is led by a trained recreational therapist and guest artists. Activity technicians are present to assist participants as needed. Participants will get to take their artwork home.
