The Nebraska Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver was formed to address the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations redefining home and community based settings in waiver-funded programs. Staff from the Nebraska UCEDD program, in partnership with the Nebraska Statewide Independent Living Council, The Arc of Nebraska, Nebraska AARP, Independence Rising, Disability Rights Nebraska, the Traumatic Brain Injury Association and others, disseminated information to stakeholders and provided public comments to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services on their transition plan submitted to CMS.
