Predoctoral Internship
The Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) Department of Pediatric Feeding Disorders, Severe Behavior Department and integrated Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders (iCASD) offers a 2,000-hour predoctoral internship through the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology, accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). This internship is designed for graduate students completing their PhD or Psy.D. in clinical, school, or counseling psychology in APA-accredited programs.
Predoctoral interns receive advanced training in behavioral psychology and participate in monthly consortium meetings with interns from other local internship sites. Predoctoral interns complete two six-month rotations or one full-year rotation in the following programs: pediatric feeding disorders, severe behavior disorders or early intervention. Rotations may include opportunities to participate in the following services: intensive day treatment, outpatient, telehealth, caregiver training, autism diagnostic clinic, pediatric feeding evaluation clinic and family behavior management.
Didactic training is provided to predoctoral interns, including:
- consortium training
- clinical topic seminars and grand rounds
Predoctoral interns participate in research during their experience with MMI. Presentation and publication opportunities are available throughout the year, as well as attendance at regional and/or national conferences.
