A highly personalized patient experience
The Dental Clinic at Munroe-Meyer Institute is committed to providing the most positive and comprehensive dental care experience for patients of all abilities throughout their lives. We are their dental home, a place for routine care as well as treatment and emergency care.
Our goal is to help patients establish lifelong positive relationships with dental care. Our compassionate clinical team includes extraordinary faculty, postgraduate dental residents, and dental and dental hygiene students from the UNMC College of Dentistry.
An innovative clinic environment
Our new clinical environment can be altered for our patients’ unique needs and preferences. The clinic has been designed to provide a low sensory environment:
- The dental operatories can be darkened and lighting colors altered;
- Dental equipment can be concealed in cabinetry until needed; and
- The physical environment can easily be adapted for patients in wheelchairs.

- Comprehensive oral health care and consultations
- Care for patients with specific health care needs and significant underlying medical histories
- Sedation for mildly anxious and fearful patients
- Treatment for early childhood caries (cavities), caries, orofacial injuries, periodontal needs, and cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies
- Emergency treatment for traumatic dental injuries
- Preventive services such as sealants, fluoride varnish and oral hygiene instruction
- Early intervention to address dental growth and developmental problems
- Comprehensive oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia
- Contemporary restorative care options
- Consultations with other medical specialties at MMI

- Care for patients with specific health care needs and significant underlying medical histories

An individual can be self-referred to the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute Caring for Champions Dental Clinic or referred by a physician or other health care professional, school district, social service agency or family member.
Appointments are scheduled through the Patient Information Office.
