Early Childhood Evaluations
Projects evaluated in this area include early childhood initiatives to enhance the quality of early education to infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families. The goal is to narrow the student achievement gap in high-risk communities.
Key components of “Early Childhood” evaluations include
- observations of the classroom or home environments
- analysis of the child outcomes including development,
language, literacy and school readiness skills - evaluation of parenting skills

- Educare of Omaha is part of a national network of high-quality early childhood centers for children in high-poverty.
- Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative provides intensive support (coaching, training and resources) to an early childhood network in Douglas and Sarpy counties.
- Sixpence Endowment Programs promote opportunities for children to experience positive environments from birth to age 3 in order to positively impact their health, growth and development.
- Kidsquad is a pyramid project and rooted in relationships ae all mental health/early childhood mental heath consultation projects using the teaching pyramid model.
- Early Childhood Grant Program and Results Matter of Nebraska is a program designed to assist the implementation of comprehensive center-based early childhood programs, which support the learning and development of children in the birth to kindergarten age range. Results Matter of Nebraska is responsive to the federal mandate of the Individuals with Disabilities Act monitoring child and family outcomes for birth to age 5.
