Professional Summary
Jeena Kouris is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the department of speech-language pathology at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute and works at the RiteCare Clinic Omaha at MMI's main location near UNO's Scott Campus. Jeena works in an outpatient setting, specializing in autism spectrum disorder, speech-sound disorders and augmentative and alternative communication. Her clinical experience includes four years as a behavior technician in an Early Intervention program for children with autism. Since then, Jeena has provided speech and language services in a variety of settings, including Munroe-Meyer Institute’s early intervention for autism program, RiteCare pre-school, and young adults with disabilities groups. She is also a member of Munroe-Meyer Institute’s multidisciplinary autism diagnostic clinic.
Jeena utilizes her previous training in applied behavior analysis and as a behavior techinician to integrate principles of behavior and evidence-based practice into her diagnostic evaluations and therapy methods. She also implements a strong focus on functional communication, as well as collaboration with families, educators, and peers to facilitate the continuity of care across settings and communication partners.
