Professional Summary
After completing her internship at MMI in 2012, Carly was hired on full-time to pilot an adult day program in collaboration with ENCOR to provide therapeutic swim and community outreach services for adults with medical fragilities. In 2017 she transitioned to her position as the department’s volunteer coordinator where she had the opportunity to work collaboratively with students from surrounding high schools and universities and provide trainings on working with individuals with I/DD. In 2020 she became the assistant director and now has the pleasure of training the department’s 75+ part-time staff. Carly has also worked as a program coordinator for Ollie Webb Center, Inc., which helped cultivate her understanding of the barriers faced by young adults with developmental disabilities and their families and the need for advocacy to ensure their rights and inclusion. She is currently enrolled in the MSIA PhD program at UNMC and is passionate about providing sexuality education services for people with IDD.
