Sara S. Klingelhoefer, MSEd, LIMHP, is a licensed independent mental health practitioner at the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Behavioral Health Outreach Clinics in Kearney, Nebraska and York, Nebraska. She received her graduate degree in clinical mental health psychology from the University Nebraska at Kearney and completed her internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Behavioral Outreach Clinic in Kearney, Nebraska. In addition to her training in behavioral disorders, Sara also completed the training for the Adolescent-Community Reinforcement Approach in Treating Substance Use Disorders in Nashville, Tennessee in 2017. Sara completed this certification in 2018. She completed part of her provisional hours of her license at the Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Center (YRTC) for boys at Kearney, Nebraska, where she provided services to youth with severe and persistent mental illness and behavioral disorders. Sara has also completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Sara works closely with psychologists within the Psychology Department at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center to initiate evaluation for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders and autism spectrum disorders and provides outpatient behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults. Her clinical interests include the assessment and treatment of disruptive behaviors (tantrums, aggression, and noncompliance), sleep concerns, habits and tics, toileting problems, school problems, family engagement, depression and anxiety.
