The Research Information Technology Office (RITO) was established to meet the growing IT needs of researchers. RITO also works closely with UNMC’s Information Technology Services (ITS) and other college/departmental IT entities to fulfill the specialized IT needs of researchers.
RITO provides two hours of consulting service at no cost to each researcher annually, which is funded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (VCR).
Goals
- Provide technology services, support and advice to the UNMC research community, Research Core Facilities and partial support to educational activities.
- Serve as a liaison between ITS and the research community on overlapping technology topics.
- Provide custom technology solutions to UNMC research community where gaps exists after ITS fulfilled their responsibilities.
Scope
RITO serves all of UNMC's colleges and institutes and collaborate with the research community to develop technology requirements proposals for INBRE, COBRE, IDeA-CTR, PCORI, National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) and other NIH and non-NIH funding entities.
Services not in Scope
Desktop deployment and support, Networking, Help Desk, ITS Security, Administration of ITS systems, and other specialized areas of ITS core areas.
