Regulatory Committees
Animal Care and Use
The Institutional Animal Care and Utilization Committee (IACUC) is responsible for the oversight of all animal studies performed at UNMC.
Human Subjects
The Institutional Review Committee (IRB) is responsible for the oversight of all research which utilize human subjects.
Infectious Agents
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is responsible for the oversight of all laboratory studies which use biohazardous agents. Biohazardous agents are materials of biological origin that have the capacity to produce deleterious effects on humans or animals. These may include: Recombinant DNA molecules, Risk Group 2 or 3 microorganisms, Clinical/Medical waste, large batch cultures of biological agents.
