Safety Data Sheets (SDS), formerly known as Material Safety Data Sheets or MSDS, should be available for all hazardous materials and/or chemicals used and stored in the workplace. The SDS should be used to orient personnel to the hazards associated with these items and what personal protective equipment should be utilized.
UNMC and Nebraska Medicine have contracted with VelocityEHS for Safety Data Sheet (SDS) storage and retrieval services. An SDS can be retrieved in two ways - Online and via Phone/Fax.
- ON-LINE: VelocityEHS
- You can then search the database by name, manufacturer, CAS no, etc. If you do not find the item within in our binder on this website, you can search the entire MSDSonline database by clicking on the MSDSonline Search button. The search engine first searches a binder that contains SDSs that have been selected by our employees. If it does not find an SDS there it will search the entire MSDSOnline database.
- PHONE AND FAX:
- SDS can be obtained via phone and fax service. This method assures accessibility to all employees.
- Contact MSDSOnline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: 1-888-362-7416 (toll-free)
