Program Highlights

Plan of Study

Completing a UNO MBA degree requires 33 hours of specified graduate course work and attendance at a minimum of two MBA Leadership Speaker series events.

Details

Students with non-business backgrounds also must complete foundation courses in accounting and economics. UNO offers two options for meeting this foundation requirement. Students may take two undergraduate courses in accounting and two undergraduate courses in economics, to be completed over two semesters.

Principles of Accounting I (ACCT 2010) and Principles of Accounting II (ACCT 2020)
Microeconomics (ECON 2200) and Macroeconomics (ECON 2220)

A second option is for students to take two survey courses, each of which facilitate completion of the foundation requirements for accounting and economics. These courses can be taken concurrently and completed in one semester.

BSAD 8110 Accounting and Financial Fundamentals
ECON 1200 Survey of Economics

For DDS students who have earned undergraduate or graduate degrees in accounting, economics, finance, management, management information systems, or marketing, the MBA core course(s) corresponding to the students’ undergraduate major(s) or degree(s) will be waived and the students will complete a directed elective in the waived field.

DDS students may transfer nine (9) credit hours as elective credit from courses taken at UNMC, as approved by the MBA Graduate Program Council and the College of Dentistry faculty. A minimum B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) grade is required in each course. The official transfer and application of the professional credits from UNMC to the UNO MBA program will take place upon completion of the DDS degree. (Please see Addendum A for a current list of approved courses from the DDS program.)

DDS students completing the UNO MBA degree are not eligible to choose an MBA concentration because UNMC COD courses will comprise all electives.
