The College of Dentistry serves as part of the dental safety net for the State of Nebraska. Our outreach activities allow our students, faculty and staff to provide oral health care services and education to underserved populations across the state.

Early Dental Health Starter Kits ProgramWe partner with the Nebraska DHHS Office of Oral Health and the Nebraska Community Foundation to produce and distribute children's dental health kits across Nebraska with the goal of preventing children's dental disease. |

Special Olympics Special Smiles ProgramWe partner with the Special Olympics Special Smiles program to provide free dental screenings and education to Special Olympics athletes ranging in ages from 10-69. |

UNMC Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP)The goal of the SHPEP program is to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions. |

Enduring Smiles Educational ProgramThe Enduring Smiles program aims to inform independent older adults about the oral health issues and changes they may experience in the future. |

75+ Statewide Outreach PartnersWe partner with 75+ schools, non-profit organizations, media outlets and others to educate Nebraskans about the importance of oral health and the College’s comprehensive dental services. |
