The purpose of this policy and procedure is to provide a basic description of UNMC’s
Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) through: 1) the Organization’s stated mission, 2)
application of ethical principles to guide all human subject research under the oversight of the
Organization, and 3) regulatory compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
It is the policy of UNMC that the HRPP will: 1) ensure the rights and welfare of human
subjects are protected, 2) evaluate and continually improve the protection of human research
subjects, and 3) foster important human subject research in accordance with its mission.
