Education

The Mary and Dick Holland Regenerative Medicine Program at UNMC invites applications for postdoctoral research fellow positions annually. These will be posted on the UNMC employment website when available.

UNMC is a world-class health science center and is an international destination for top educators, researchers, clinicians and students — as well as patients seeking advanced care. UNMC is widely known for its programs in transplantation, cancer research, genetics, and bioterrorism preparedness.

Postdoctoral research fellows will engage in full-time advanced research training under the supervision and direction of a faculty sponsor in the sponsor’s research program. Postdoctoral research fellows are supported by the college and, as appropriate, by the sponsor’s grants. The successful applicant must relocate to the sponsor’s location (Omaha) for active participation in the sponsor’s program of research and to take advantage of the many interdisciplinary scientific opportunities afforded by the University.

Program goals focus on accelerating the trainee’s entry into a research career and include:

  • Implementing a program of research
  • The acquisition of grantsmanship skills such as written and oral communication, preparation of grant applications and administering funded grants
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with scientists from other fields
  • Training in scientific integrity
