Overview
The Flow Cytometry Research Facility is a shared resources laboratory at UNMC, serving researchers and surrounding institutions by providing a central location for flow cytometry instrumentation and education. We offer a number of services to both internal and external scientists.
What is Flow Cytometry?
Flow cytometry is a rapid, multiparametric, single cell analysis technology that can look at phenotypic and functional characteristics of large numbers of cells in suspension. Below is short video on the basic concepts of flow cytometry.News and Class Schedule
Flow Cytometry Bootcamp
This summer, the Flow Cytometry Research Facility will be hosting a few sessions of Flow Cytometry Boot Camp! These will be week long classes, scheduled for approximately 1 hour each morning. Instrument QC, fluidics, startup & shutdown, experimental setup and troubleshooting will be covered. This class is intended for users who are already trained and experienced in acquiring their own samples on the LSRII instruments, but who want to learn more and increase their expertise in flow cytometry.

Introduction to Flow Cytometry Classes
New users need to complete the Practical Flow Cytometry class, offered at no charge to University of Nebraska users by the facility (class fee for external users is posted under our rate schedule.) This scheduled class is 3 hours, and covers principles of flow cytometry technology, application, and using the facility.
