Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center

505 S. 45th St.

Located in Room 5.12.04, the lactation space has two stations divided by a curtain. It has a sink and trash can. Each station has a Medela Symphony pump, chair, table and power source. 
  • Directions: Exit the elevator on the fifth floor and follow signs towards Family Laundry / Shower. The room will be across from Family Laundry / Shower. 
  • Access: ID card access. Email Title IX Education to request access to the lactation room. 

Business Services (Building 4230) 

4230 Leavenworth St.

Two spaces are available in this building.

One is located in Room 2049. This lactation space has two stations divided by a curtain. Each station has a chair, table and power source. 
  • Access: Room is accessible by key code, 2049#. 
  • Directions: Enter the building and turn right. Room will be in front of you at the end of the hallway. 
The other is located in Room 2057. This lactation space has a chair, refrigerator, power source, changing table, and locks from the inside. A bathroom is located next door. 
  • Access: Anyone with access to the IT division of Building 4230.
  • Contact: Info desk at 402-559-7253. 
  • Directions: Enter the IT division and turn right. Take the next right and the room will be between the bathrooms.

Clarkson Tower 

4350 Dewey Ave.

Two spaces are available in this building.

One is located in Room 4879. This lactation space has two stations divided by a curtain. Each station has a Medela Symphony pump, table and power source. The room has a bathroom with a sink, mirror and trash can. 
  • Access: Via a code obtained from Labor and Delivery, 402-559-6363. 
  • Contact: Email Stacia Kennedy or call 402-552-3487. 
  • Directions: From the service elevators, follow signs towards Emergency Room holding area Room 4881 A-G. The room will be in the hallway past the holding area.
The other is located in Room 08174. This lactation space has two stations divided by a curtain. Each station has a Medela Symphony pump, table and power source. The room has a bathroom with a sink, mirror, shower and trash can.
  • Access: Via a code obtained from Labor and Delivery, 402-559-6363.
  • Directions: From elevator E, exit on the ground floor, and turn left. Take your next left down the hallway, turn left at the hallway across from the Pulmonary Lab, and then turn left again at the following hallway. The room will be on your left-hand side.

Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education

619 S. 42nd St.

Located in Room 3013, this lactation space has two couches, a table, power sources, a sink, trash can and mirror.

  • Access: ID card access. Email Title IX Education to request access to the lactation room. 
  • Directions: Exit the elevator on the third floor, go right, turn right again and the room will be on your left-hand side past the wheelchair accessible bathroom. 

College of Nursing

4111 Dewey Ave. 

Located in Room 4064, this lactation space has one couch, chairs, table, power source, reading materials, a refrigerator, trash can, and a Medela Pump in Style Advanced pump.

  • Access: Room has open-access and locks from the inside.
  • Contact: College of Nursing Dean’s Office, 402-559-5414. 
  • Directions: Exit the elevators on the fourth floor, turn right, then turn right again. Walk to the end of the hall and the room will be on your left-hand side before you hit the skywalk.

UNMC Center for Drug Discovery and Lozier Center for Pharmacy Sciences and Education

Located in Room 1039A, this lactation space has a chair, table, power source, mirror, trash can, Clorox wipes and paper towels. 

  • Access: Open-access and the door locks from the inside. 
  • Contact: College of Pharmacy Dean’s Office, 402-559-4838. 
  • Directions: The room is in the east end of the first floor, near the stairwell and compounding laboratory.  

Harold M. and Beverly Maurer Center for Public Health

519 S. 40th St.

Located in Room 2059, this lactation space has a chair, table, refrigerator, sink, trash can, mirror, power source and Medela Symphony pump. Additional pump supplies are also available on a donation basis. 

  • Access: Open-access and locks on the inside. 
  • Directions: Enter from the north end of the building. The room will be on your right-hand side near the wheelchair accessible bathroom. 

Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center 

4111 Emile St.

Located in Room 1007, this lactation space has a chair, table, power source, sink, mirror, trash can and locking refrigerator (request key from the information desk). 

  • Access: Open-access and the door locks from the inside. 
  • Contact: Global Center information desk, 402-559-3239. 
  • Directions: When facing the information desk, take the hallway to the right and the room is in the hallway behind the elevators. 

University Tower 

4400 Emile St.

Two spaces are available in this building.

One is located in Room 4207. This lactation space has two stations divided by curtains. Each station has a chair, shelf, power source and trash can. 

  • Access: Via a code requested from Labor and Delivery, 402-559-6363.
  • Directions: From C Store, take stairwell 3298A to the fourth floor and exit to the left. The room will be before the double doors on your right-hand side.

The other is located in Room 4211. This lactation space has four stations divided by curtains. Each station has a chair, shelf, power source and trash can. The room has one Medela Symphony pump and a sink. 

  • Access: Via a code requested from Labor and Delivery, 402-559-6363. 
  • Directions: From C Store, take stairwell 3298A to the fourth floor and exit to the left. The room will be before the double doors on your left-hand side across from the lockers.

Durham Outpatient Center 

4400 Emile St.

Two spaces are available in this building.

One, a Mamava Lactation Pod, is located in the lobby. This lactation space has power sources, a bench, shelf, mirror and hand sanitizer. 

  • Access: A key obtained from the information desk or security.
  • Contact: Information desk / security, 402-559-5111 
  • Directions: Enter the main lobby and the pod is to your right behind the escalators.

The other is located in Room 4654. This lactation space has a chair, shelf, sink, trash can, power source and Medela Symphony pump. The door locks from the inside. 

  • Access: Granted by the Women’s Health Resource Center. Reservations for time slots are  strongly recommended. If open, room is available for drop in use.
  • Contact: Women’s Health Resource Center, 402-559-6345. 
  • Directions: Exit the elevators on the fourth floor to the left and the Women’s Health Resource Center will be in front of you.

Durham Research Center I 

Located in Room 1007C, this lactation space has two stations divided by a curtain. It has two couches with tables, power sources, a sink, mirror, trash can and white board. 

  • Access: ID card access. Email Title IX Education to request access to the lactation room. 
  • Directions: From the DRC1 lobby, enter the hallway to the left of the elevators and go through doorway 1099G between classrooms 1005 and 1006. The room will be past the break area on the right-hand side. 

Durham Research Center II 

Located in the lobby, the Mamava Lactation Pod has two benches, shelves, power sources, a mirror, trash can and cleaning supplies. 

  • Access: Via the Mamava app and can be dead bolted from the inside. 
  • Contact: Dorene and Julie, 402-559-3231 or 402-677-7342
  • Directions: Enter the lobby of DRC2 and the pod will be on your right-hand side.

Medical Science Building 

4350 Dewey Ave.

Located in Room 2520 D, this lactation space has a reclining chair, table, lamp, sink, refrigerator, power source and trash can. The room is located within the House Officer Wellness Lounge. The room locks from the inside. 

  • Access: Only for individuals with access to this area.
  • Directions: Exit the elevator from University Tower on the second floor and follow signs for ‘Surgery Patients and Family Only’ into the Hixon-Lied Center. Turn left down the hallway towards Buffett Cancer Center and the wellness lounge, Room 2520, will be on your right-hand side before you reach the elevators. Room 2520D is within the lounge, the last room down the hallway.

Wittson Hall 

528 S. 42nd St. 

Located in Room 3051A, this lactation space has two stations divided by a curtain. Each station has a chair, shelf and power source. The room has a trash can and one Medela Symphony pump. 

  • Access: Open-access and locks on the inside.
  • Directions: The room is located within the women’s restroom. From the main entrance, walk past the stairwell and enter doors on the left. The restroom will be on the left-hand side after going through the doorway. Inside the restroom there is a door into the lactation room.  

Wittson Hall / Leon S. McGoogan Health Sciences Library 

528 S. 42nd St.

Three spaces are available in the McGoogan Library. All are only available to employees or students with access to the McGoogan Library. The rooms are all open-access and lock from the inside.

One is located in Room 6007. This lactation space has a chair, table, shelf, curtain, power source, sink and trash can.

  • Directions: On the sixth floor, exit the elevator to the right and follow the hallway in front of the Maker Studio (ignore sign saying to turn right). Turn right at the next hallway and the room will be on your immediate right.

Another is located in Room 7042. This lactation space has a chair, table, shelf, curtain, power source, sink and trash can.

  • Directions: Take the elevator to the sixth floor, then take the far-right elevator to the seventh floor. Exit the elevator to the right and follow signs to the second hallway on your right-hand side. Turn right and the room will be on the left-hand side across from the elevator.

The third is located in Room 8004. This lactation space has a chair, shelf, curtain, power source, sink, mirror and trash can.

  • Directions: Take the elevator to the sixth floor, then take the far-right elevator to the eighth floor. Exit the elevator to the right, and the room will be on your right-hand side after passing through the first doorway. 

Munroe-Meyer Institute

6902 Pine St. 

Two spaces are available in this building.

One is located in Room 10033. This lactation space has a chair, side table, power source, mirror, trash can, sink, hand soap, paper towels and an Ameda Finesse pump.

  • Access: Open-access and locks on the inside. Accessible to MMI staff, faculty and guests. 
  • Contact: MMI, clinic nurse manager: 402-559-2297 
  • Directions: From the east entrance, the room is straight ahead and just to the right in the main hallway. The front desk receptionist can help with directions if needed.

The other is located in Room 40006. This lactation space has a chair, side table, power source, mirror, trash can, sink, hand soap, paper towels and an Ameda Finesse pump.

  • Access: Open-access and locks on the inside. Accessible to MMI staff, faculty and guests. 
  • Contact: MMI, clinic nurse manager: 402-559-2297 
  • Directions: From the east entrance, take the main elevators to the fourth floor. Go right out of the elevators and past the administration suite. The room is at the end of the hall.
