International Graduates

We welcome applicants from outside the United States. Our Office of Global Engagement provides information and several services related to visa sponsorship and related topics for departments at UNMC, as well as international students, scholars and employees.

Required

Graduation from medical school within the last five years
Clinical experience in the United States
Activity in clinical medicine within the past five years
Three letters of recommendation two from surgeons
Complete SF Match application (we only accept applications through SF Match)
USMLE transcript
First time passage of USMLE Step 1 & 2, must have completed Step 3 prior to Match
We sponsor J1 visas and can sponsor H1 visas based on the applicant’s overall qualifications (to qualify for H1 visa, USMLE III must be completed successfully)
ECFMG certification required at time of application
