Pediatric Surgery Fellowship

The University of Nebraska Medical Center's two-year pediatric surgery fellowship is an integrated experience between two elite institutions: Nebraska Medicine and Children’s Nebraska. Approximately 95% of the fellow’s operative experience will take place at Children’s Nebraska.

This situation offers the best of both worlds to our fellow. The Nebraska Medicine setting offers a world-class NICU and general surgery residency. Children’s Nebraska is a free-standing, state-of-the-art, modern children’s hospital that will serve as the primary clinical location for training.

During the two-year program, fellows will serve off-service rotations in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. There is some flexibility for an off-service rotation in cardiothoracic, plastics, ENT or pediatric urology.

While on service, our pediatric surgery faculty have extensive experiences in minimally invasive abdominal and chest surgery, as well as aerodigestive endoscopies.

For all applicants, especially those with families, Omaha consistently ranks as one of the least stressful, most livable cities in the United States.

We offer one fellowship every two years. Applicants may apply via Electronic Residency Application Service.
