International Graduates

We welcome applicants from outside of the United States. Our Office of Global Engagement provides information and several services related to visa sponsorship and related topics for departments at UNMC, as well as international students, scholars and employees.

Required

Graduation from medical school within the last 5 years
Clinical experience in the United States
Activity in clinical medicine within the past 5 years
Three letters of recommendation 2 from surgeons
Complete ERAS application
Pass the clinical skills examination on the first attempt
USMLE transcript
USMLE Step 1 & 2 scores of no less than 230
We sponsor J1 visas and can sponsor H1 visas based on the applicant’s overall qualifications (to qualify for H1 visa, USMLE 3 must be completed successfully)
