Arika L. Hoffman, MD
Associate Professor, UNMC Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery
Dr. Hoffman is a transplant surgeon who specializes in pediatric transplant, kidney and pancreas transplant and living donor surgery. She completed her transplant surgery training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and joined the UNMC faculty in 2015.
She is nationally recognized for her work in living kidney donation and pediatric kidney transplantation. She has dedicated her career to equity in organ transplant allocation. Additional special interests include treatment of polycystic kidney disease, vascular access for hemodialysis, and living kidney donor chains.

Dr. Hoffman has special interest in pediatric transplantation and pediatric hypertension with research interests in surgical outcomes in frail transplant patients with plans to explore how aspects of frailty, including sarcopenia, vulnerability to chronic disease and functional capacity affect outcomes in pediatric transplant population.
Her main research interests are in academic equity, gender studies, and pediatric kidney transplantation.
