Matthew Fuglestad, MD
Assistant Professor, UNMC Department of Surgery, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery
After growing up in central Minnesota, Dr. Fuglestad attended college at Bethel University and medical school at the University of Minnesota. He moved to Nebraska in 2015 and completed surgical residency at UNMC as well as a dedicated two-year research fellowship. Though the efforts and support of many great mentors, friends and family, he completed an additional year of colorectal surgery fellowship at AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida.
A desire to advance the treatment of colorectal diseases, train the next generation of surgeons, and take care of the people of Nebraska drew him back to UNMC. He and his family were delighted at the opportunity to move back, and he now serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery.
