Matthew Goede, MD, FACS

Dr. Goede is an associate professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery and is board certified in critical care and general surgery.

He is the medical director of the Department of Veterans Affairs TeleCritical Care, West Program. Prior to becoming medical director, he served as the associate medical director and a tele-intensivist and has been involved in the program since its beginning.

Dr. Goede also served on the DHHS/FEMA COVID-19 Healthcare Resilience Task Force in 2020 as the inpatient telemedicine lead. He was previously the medical director of the surgical intensive care unit and step-down critical care unit at Nebraska Medicine.

Dr. Goede's research interests include telemedicine in critical care and trauma, minimally invasive surgery in emergency general surgery, and obesity in trauma and critical care.
