Summer High School Advanced Research Program
The Summer High School Advanced Research Program (SHARP) is a collaborative effort between the Division of Student Success Student Life Inclusion and Diversity Office and the Travis B. Lewis Scholarship programs in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience, Department of Biochemistry, and the Department of Anesthesiology.
The purpose of SHARP is to provide hands-on, bench-side research. During the program, students have an opportunity to enhance their high school education and build research knowledge and experience by working in a lab for 10 weeks. The students will receive training in biomedical techniques, create a research poster and present their findings at the end of the program. Students will work with their laboratory team to learn about research methods, examining data and presenting their summer findings.
