Public Service Loan Forgiveness
The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program allows you to receive forgiveness of the remaining balance of your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments while working full time for a qualifying employer.
To receive forgiveness, you must remain employed with a qualifying employer at the time you submit your PSLF and Temporary Expanded PSLF (TEPSLF) Certification & Application AND receive forgiveness for your loans.
UNMC Employment Verifications
Employees may need an employment verification due to loans they are applying for or due to other reasons. Employees may share with their lending institution or other institutions/organizations to e-mail requests to HR Records at hrrecords@unmc.edu. This will ensure that request is processed in a timely manner.
For Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), employees may:
- Review the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) webpage and check if qualifications have been met.
- Review PSLF Form procedures.
- E-mail HR Records at hrrecords@unmc.edu and request completion of “Section 3: Employer Information” on page two of the form. Please do not e-mail the PSLF form as HR Records already has the needed section.
- An HR Records representative will complete “Section 3: Employer Information” and e-mail it as a PDF to the requester and/or employee.
