Peer Academic Consultants
The Office of Academic Success is hiring Supplemental Instruction Leaders to serve as Peer Academic Consultants. Consultants assist students in reaching their academic goals by helping them identify, utilize, and tailor resources to achieve success.
All consultants are provided with the training and tools to navigate their consultations. Consultation dates and times are flexible according to the Leader's schedule. Sessions may be held on campus or remote via Zoom. Consultations on campus require room reservations and must adhere to current UNMC COVID-19 campus guidance, safety guidelines and mandates.
Consultants are paid $15/hr.

Overview of Positions
Supplemental Instructor (SI)
The Office of Academic Success hires Supplemental Instruction Leaders to serve as Supplemental Instructors for historically challenging courses. Supplemental Instructors assist students in reaching their academic goals by hosting group sessions to help students rework course content. They help students identify, utilize and tailor resources to achieve success.
Supplemental Instructors are trained and provided with tools to navigate their group SI sessions. SI session dates and times are flexible according to the Leader's schedule. Sessions may be held on campus or via Zoom. Sessions held on campus require room reservations and must adhere to current UNMC COVID-19 campus guidance, safety guidelines and mandates.
Pay: $15/hr.
Peer Academic Consultant (PAC)
The Office of Academic Success hires Supplemental Instruction Leaders to serve as Peer Academic Consultants. Consultants assist students in reaching their academic goals by helping them identify, utilize, and tailor resources to achieve success.
Consultants are trained and provided with tools to navigate their consultations. Consultation dates and times are flexible according to the Consultant's schedule. Sessions may be held on campus or via Zoom. Consultations on campus require room reservations and must adhere to current UNMC COVID-19 campus guidance, safety guidelines, and mandates.
Pay: $15/hr.
Position Requirements for Both Roles:
- Must be current UNMC students enrolled at least part-time in their program.
- Must have completed their first academic year in their UNMC program.
- Maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Commit to assisting UNMC students in identifying and utilizing self-directed learning resources and tools to promote students' academic success and well-being.
- Willingly serve and assist UNMC students from all colleges and programs.
- Federal Work Study eligible, preferred.
