Environmental Exposure Facility
Who We Are
The Environmental Exposure Facility at UNMC features three TE-10 systems capable of delivering tobacco or cannabis smoke for translational, environmental exposure studies. Located in a dedicated Comparative Medicine room, the facility offers controlled exposure of mainstream or side-stream smoke, monitored for Total Suspended Particulate content. Operating under negative pressure with dedicated exhaust, it ensures operator safety while supporting studies with sham room air options. Researchers can utilize the facility for evaluating biologic markers like urinary cotinine and lung pathology, with expert consultation available.
