Instruments and Services

The Seahorse Core provides training and expertise in the use of the Agilent Seahorse Extracellular Flux Analyzer to measure OCR and ECAR. We have experience running Agilent’s assays to assess metabolic changes in cultured cells as well as isolated mitochondria.

Agilent Seahorse Extracellular Flux Analyzers

XFp Flux Analyzer: 8-well miniplate format
XFe96 Flux Analyzer: 96-well plate format
XF Prep Station: Incorporates a non-CO2 incubator, media warmer, cell washer, and media exchanger.

Training

The core provides training to new users on how to set up and run an assay on the Agilent Seahorse Extracellular Flux Analyzer to facilitate future unassisted runs by the user. Users provide their own consumables/reagents, and new users are trained during their first experiment to use the equipment. Once trained, users book the machine via RSS.
