Minimum booking: 30 minutes for analysis/60 minutes for sorting
Booking increments: 15 minutes
Cancellations: Must be made with at least a 24-hour notice.
New Users
New users need to complete the Introduction Flow Cytometry class, offered free by the facility. The class is held the first week of each month for three hours and covers principles of flow cytometry technology, application, and using the facility. Space is limited, to register for this class call 402-559-6267 or email us.
Flow Cytometry Analysis
The Flow Cytometry Research Facility maintains several different flow cytometers for acquisition of samples. These cytometers are available 24/7 for trained users and during regular operating hours for assisted acquisition.

Cell Sorting
If you wish to physically isolate sub-populations of cells, such as after a green fluorescent protein transfection or stem cell isolation, then you will need to use a cell sorter for high purity. There are three multi-laser flow cytometric cell sorters in the facility and an AutoMACS magnetic particle separator for cell separation and enrichment. Prices for Cell Sorting are below:

Software
We have numerous software packages at the facility to analyze flow cytometry data. These are available to users at no charge, including ModFit LT, BD FACSDiva, Cell Quest Pro, and FlowJo, on the facility workstations.
Additionally, we offer UNMC colleagues the ability to sign up to our FlowJo site license, allowing access to this analysis software from any computer. There is a yearly fee of approximately $300 per license (cost depends on the total number of licenses ordered each year). Contact us to sign up to this site license.
Other Services
We offer several supplemental services at the facility, including assisted data analysis (for beginners, complex analyses, and publication-quality data presentation); Countess automated hemocytometer; and consultations on all aspects of flow cytometry application.
