Durham Research Towers

Named in honor of the late Charles (Chuck) Durham, former chairman and chief executive of the engineering and architectural firm HDR Inc., who provided the lead gift for both projects, the Durham Research Centers' two towers contain a combined total of more than 550,000 square feet of space dedicated to research.

Working inside Durham Research Center I and II are physicians and scientists tackling some of the most perplexing diseases of our time. Together, the twin 10-story research towers enable UNMC to enhance research in a number of areas, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurosciences, transplantation biology, genetics, and eye research.
