William Lo, MD, PhD
William Lo, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Radiation Oncology. He also serves as an attending physician at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Kearney.

Dr. Lo graduated from the MD/PhD program at Harvard Medical School and pursued his PhD degree in the joint Harvard-MIT Medical Engineering and Medical Physics program. During his PhD, he developed a number of novel optical imaging, thermal therapy monitoring, and hypertrophic scar imaging techniques at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed his residency training in radiation oncology at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo., where he received several grants to explore the theme of mitigating radiation-induced fibrosis using integrin-targeted PET imaging and therapeutics.

His research interests focus on the development of novel imaging, therapeutics, and other interesting state-of-the-art technologies to improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

Patient Care
Dr. Lo provides clinical care at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Kearney for patients with a variety of cancers including prostate, breast, lung, colorectal, and skin cancers, among others.
