Innovation Expo

The Midwest Public Health Innovation and Research Expo is an annual, all-day event that serves as a center for collaboration and fosters meaningful connections within the college and throughout the University of Nebraska system. This event enables faculty, students and stakeholders to meet collaborators and community/clinical partners, showcase their research, hear updates from UNMC College of Public Health Innovation Fund investigators, and brainstorm innovative ideas for federal funding.

Over the lunch hour, the Expo showcases student talent by featuring their poster presentations and current research. This interactive session provides a platform for students to share their innovative projects, exchange ideas, and receive valuable feedback from peers, faculty, and visiting experts.

Beyond the formal sessions, the Innovation Expo also offers opportunities for networking and forging connections. Our attendees are made up of researchers, faculty, and students within and outside of the UNMC College of Public Health, which provides a diverse set of backgrounds to collaborate with.

The Expo also features an award ceremony to honor the outstanding students that shared their research. Join us in celebrating their achievements and envisioning the potential they hold for the future of public health during our next 2024 session.

The Midwest PHIRE is made possible through the College of Public Health Innovation Fund and is co-sponsored by The Great Plains IDeA-CTR, Creighton University’s Institute for Population Health, and CyncHealth.
