Leslie Scofield, MPH
Leslie Scofield, MPH, is an instructor with the Emergency Preparedness Concentration at the College of Public Health Department of Epidemiology.
 
Leslie has been engaged in public health emergency preparedness and response activities since joining the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2002. She has assisted first responders, healthcare personnel, hospitals, and public health practitioners in identifying gaps in knowledge and preparedness and developing solutions that provide education, exercises, and planning. She has overseen the development of several educational and leadership programs aimed at public health emergency response on both a regional and national level. Leslie's strengths lie in her capacity to design education that is centered around participant engagement.
 
She holds a Master in Public Health from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, serves on the Board of Directors for the Public Health Association of Nebraska and the Advocacy committee of the Iowa Public Health Association.

Research Interests

Leslie’s research interest includes equity in disaster planning and response, mass casualty triage, food insecurity and domestic violence prevention.
