Keith Hansen, MBA, is director of the Center for Preparedness and Emergency Response Solutions in the UNMC College of Public Health, where he also is an instructor in the Department of Epidemiology. He also serves as director of the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Professionals Association at UNMC, and as co-director of the Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals.
In the College of Public Health, he previoiusly served as an assistant dean for operations and management in the College of Public Health Office of the Dean, and as an instructor in the Department of Health Services Research & Administration.
He chaired the Nebraska State Emergency Response Commission from 2009 to 2015, and was outreach coordinator for pandemic influenza education for the Center for Preparedness Education.
Earlier, Hansen was emergency response coordinator and an injury prevention and control program manager at the Nebraska Health & Human Services.
He served as an HIV/AIDS education coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Health and as an injury prevention program coordinator for the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department.
Hansen has been a visiting lecturer in the UNL College of Business Administration.

Mr. Hansen’s research interests include crisis management, crisis leadership, and disaster planning.
