Statistical Education
Statistical education research involves scholarly activity aimed to enhance the practice of teaching and learning of statistics. Education in statistics includes many complexities that warrant scholarly investigation. Like education in other quantitative sciences, it involves logic, mathematics, and computer science. At the same time, statistics as a science integrates evidence-based reasoning, data analysis, and study design. Statistics is a theoretical and applied discipline, which combines hands-on learning and team science. As the need and requirement for statistics education grows, so does the need for statistics education research. The nature of the discipline itself, along with the diversity and backgrounds of learners has made statistics education research an emerging field.
