Teaching Philosophy

As a native rural Nebraskan and also a UNMC alumnus, Laura has a deep commitment to help train the next generation of public health practitioners. Throughout her experiences in higher education and experiential learning in graduate or professional programs, she understands the value of community and campus partnerships as a tool for meaningful contributions toward student education and population health. Laura has witnessed time after time the potential of a student’s growth through immersive, collaborative or culminating experiences and strives to create the environments for students to maximize their growth potential.
