During Dr. Brandert's over 20 years in public health, her career has been grounded in workforce development and technical assistance for public health practitioners. At CityMatCH, a national maternal and child health membership organization, she co-developed and implemented a host of education and training initiatives for the MCH workforce across the country focused on issues like infant mortality, health inequities, and leadership development. From 2012-2022, she served as Manager of Workforce Development and Leadership Programs in the College of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In 2022, she was named Assistant Dean of Public Health Practice for the college. Her research focuses on the development of leaders, with an interest in integrating equity, diversity, and inclusion competencies into leadership development. Her experiences and skillsets give me a unique vantage point to not only be able to quickly assess the needs of the workforce, but to offer education and training solutions to meet those needs. As a trained executive and team coach, she successfully support individuals, teams, and organizations through small and large scale change efforts in their communities.

Teaching Philosophy
A belief core to Dr. Brandert's teaching strategy is one often cited by those who serve in executive coaching roles: The person(s) in front of me are whole, creative and resourceful people responsible for their own learning. The people she is interacting with have life experiences that have brought them to the classroom; they have much to give, and she has as much to learn from them as they do from her. Most importantly, they are responsible for their own learning. As a teacher, Dr. Brandert brings her best self, timely and relevant content, and a safe space for learning, but in the end, it is their learning, and she is honored to be a witness to their growth.
