About the Department

A Department on the Move

Our department educates young doctors and researches many frontiers of mental health. We are committed to advancing the field of psychiatry with training that focuses on state-of-the-art clinical care, forward-thinking education, and research that translates discoveries into compassionate care.

Our department has blazed trails in the treatment of and approach to mental health across the state of Nebraska. In recent years, we launched an adult psychiatry residency program. We  worked with UNMC's primary clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine, to create a compassionate Adult Psychiatric Emergency Services and to develop new subspecialty clinics.

Our department benefits from talented faculty members, who provide care through UNMC's clinical partners.

You're invited to follow us on social media and via our newsletters to see how we live our values.

There is no health without mental health, and we must be advocates for our patients, partners with our communities, mentors for our students and pioneers in the science of psychiatry. If this sounds like your department, we hope you join us.
