Funding Sources

Finding the money to pay for your research is an issue you will have to confront again and again as a scientist, even if you currently have funding from your principal investigator.

External Funding

NIH Grants and Contracts
This guide is NIH's official publication of notices of grant policies, guidelines and funding opportunity announcements. You can also narrow the search just to K99/R00 funding.
Non-NIH Grants and Fellowships
This directory includes international grants and fellowships in biomedical and behavioral research, and additional funding opportunities available to those in the field of global health research.
Graduate Women In Science
This national fellowship program promotes knowledge in the natural and social sciences and encourages women's academic and professional careers in the sciences.
L'Oréal USA for Women in Science Fellowship
The program awards women postdoctoral scientists for their contributions in STEM fields and commitment to serving as role models for younger generations.
Hanna H. Gray Fellows Program
This program aims to recruit and retain individuals from gender, racial, ethnic, and other groups underrepresented in the life sciences.
Ford Foundation Fellowships

The Research Office has established a grant resource library to complement efforts of investigators and faculty to prepare competitive grant applications designed to provide necessary information in an easy-to-find format (requires UNMC login).
