Milestone Ceremonies
During their time at the UNMC College of Pharmacy, students take part in three significant milestone ceremonies.
White Coat Ceremony
The White Coat Ceremony is a significant rite of passage for students in the College of Pharmacy as they embark on their professional program. This ceremony emphasizes professionalism, highlighting the importance of compassionate care and service to others as students prepare for their clinical encounters with patients.
Convocation
The Convocation ceremony, also referred to as hooding ceremony, is a special recognition ceremony where students receive their doctoral hood to be worn at commencement. The hood signifies their success in completing the PharmD program. This ceremony is small and only for students graduating from the College of Pharmacy program.
Commencement
The Commencement ceremony is the UNMC graduation. Students from all colleges on the Omaha campus (Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health, Public Health, and Graduate Studies) will walk the stage and receive their diplomas at this event. The May 2024 UNMC Commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 9 am at the Baxter Arena.
