Hematology/Oncology & BMT Fellowship
Thank you for your interest in our program! The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at the University of Nebraska and Children’s Nebraska of Omaha is an ACGME accredited, three year program. The program offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience at a standalone children’s hospital as well as within a large university setting. We have two active Children’s Oncology Group sites as well as a large cohort of sickle cell, hemophilia, and other non-malignant patients, which will provide a varied and comprehensive clinical experience.
We are committed to help fellows achieve clinical excellence. Fellows will have inpatient and outpatient experiences in Hematology/Oncology as well as Stem Cell Transplantation and will have a cohort of patients that they will follow throughout their fellowship from diagnosis and selecting a treatment protocol, through completion of therapy and long term follow-up.
Please click on the links below for the block schedule and the goals and objectives for specific rotations. Unlike many other programs, we allow fellows time, during the first year, to explore potential research opportunities that will take up the majority of the second and third years. The University of Nebraska has a robust, well funded and productive basic and clinical/translational scientific community, and mentors are available in varied disciplines with whom fellows are able to select a project.
