Heidi Castillo, MD

Since the beginning of her career Dr. Heidi Castillo’s clinical interests have centered on individuals with motor related disabilities.  She has been grateful for the opportunities to care for and pursue investigation in the areas of spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and infant/toddler development.  Dr. Castillo led the Cincinnati Children’s and the Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine sites of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Spina Bifida Patient Registry in collaboration with over twenty other Spina Bifida programs throughout the United States in a disease specific registry.  She has over 50 peer reviewed publications. She also has international interests in Central America, with ongoing work in Nicaragua. Dr. Castillo enjoys interacting with patients and their families and consider it a privilege to partner with them in order to improve outcomes for individuals with chronic conditions and special health needs.
