Timothy Welch, MD
I am a combined pediatric anesthesiologist-intensivist, with a clinical practice centered on the comprehensive perioperative management of children with complex congenital heart disease. My background allows me the privilege of caring for these vulnerable patients and their families throughout the entire continuum – both in the intensive care unit, and the cardiac catheterization suites and cardiac operating room. My clinical expertise is in facilitating the high-risk, multidisciplinary transitions of care that occur in this context. Broadly, my academic interests coalesce around quality improvement as it relates to the implementation of enhanced recovery pathways for complex surgical patients.
