Anthony Sambol, MA, SM(NRCM), CBSP/RBP(ABSA), RBSO(CABS)

Anthony Sambol, MA, is an associate professor in the UNMC Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology. He also is an associate biosafety officer and responsible official for UNMC's Tier 1 Biological Select Agent and Toxin program that is regulated by the CDC’s Federal Select Agents Program.

Anthony’s prior duties included serving as manager of the Biosecurity and Special Pathogens Laboratory sections of the Nebraska Public Health Lab.

BA: Biology, University of Nebraska, summa cum laude, 1979.
MA: Biology, University of Nebraska, 1981.

Research

Sambol has been involved in various research projects centered on public health, including the 2009 Pandemic Influenza, the 2014-2015 Ebola-virus outbreak, and Influenza Virus Nanovaccines.

Bioterrorism preparedness.
Biosafety Level-3 laboratory oversight for biological select agents, and toxins.
