Carol Geary, PhD, MBA, RN, is an assistant professor in the UNMC Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology. She also serves as deputy director for network studies for UNMC's READi Core, which stands for Research, Education, Administration and Development of Biomedical Informatics.
Dr. Geary's work is focused on preparation, support and use of electronic health record data for research, and quality evaluation of and patient and stakeholder engagement in research.
She serves as local principal investigator for several national efforts using these approaches: PCORnet 3.0, RECOVER Informatics, and COVID-19 Electronic Health Data Initiative, funded by the CDC.
In addition, she is co-lead of research for our UNMC structured, de-identified electronic health record data warehouse, the Clinical Research Analytics Environment, also known as CRANE.
