Surgical Pathology Rotation

The surgical pathology rotation is organized into five subspecialties

  • Derm/bone and soft tissue
  • genitourinary
  • breast/gyn
  • gastrointestinal
  • ENT/lung
Residents are assigned 2 two-week blocks of subspecialty benches for each four week rotation. We follow a three-day cycle where we gross on the first day and preview and sign out cases the following two days. In addition to the five core benches, senior residents also have a required 4 week rotation in neuropathology and 2 week rotation in placental pathology.
