Call Schedule
The On-Call schedule can fluctuate, but usually, it’s not more than every fourth night at Children’s Hospital. At UNMC, we have a weekday night float call system, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year residents take daytime and weekend first call. 4th and 5th-year residents take back-up call, which averages seven days per month.
Rotations
Starting with their 2nd year, residents will complete five rotations per year. The pediatric rotation is done at Children's Hospital and Medical Center. The VA rotation is done at the Omaha VA Medical Center.
