Join David Brett-Major, MD, for the Aug. 20 Omaha Science Café as he presents “H5N1” at 7 p.m. at the Slowdown. H5N1, also known as avian influenza or “bird flu,” is a virus spread naturally among wild aquatic birds. It can infect domestic poultry, other birds and animal species. Sporadic human infections with bird flu viruses have occurred.
Science Cafés involve a conversation with an expert about current science topics. They are open to everyone. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation. Experts give a brief presentation followed by a Q&A period.
